Guar gum prices on Wednesday slumped 2.29 per cent to Rs 4,952 per five quintal in futures trade as participants offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend in spot market.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for April delivery fell by Rs 116, or 2.29 per cent, to Rs 4,952 per five quintal in 14,555 lots.
Guar gum for May delivery eased by Rs 102, or 2 per cent, to Rs 4,990 per five quintal in 33,305 lots.
Marketmen said weak demand in spot market and increased supplies from growing regions mainly exerted pressure on guar gum prices.
