Guar gum prices forged ahead for the second straight session, rising by another Rs 64 to Rs 8,546 per quintal as participants indulged in raising their holdings, tracking a firm trend at the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for delivery in June surged by Rs 64 or 0.75 per cent to Rs 8,546 per quintal, clocking a business interest in 37,205 lots.
Also, the delivery for May gained Rs 58 or 0.69 per cent to Rs 8,428 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 29,120 lots.
Marketmen said a firm trend at the spot markets on the back of increased export demand, mainly pushed up guar gum prices at futures trade here.
