Mustard seed prices up by Rs 36 to Rs 3,824 per quintal in futures trade today on broadening of exposures by the speculators in tune with higher demand at the physical markets.
Market players mentioned the upsurge in mustard seed futures prices to gearing up in demand for oil mills amid restricted arrivals from growing belts in spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, mustard seed delivery of the most traded May hardened by Rs 36 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 3,824 per quintal, in an open interest of 81,430 lots.
In a similar fashion, the delivery of the June strengthened by Rs 34 or 0.89 per cent to Rs 3,863 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 71,180 lots.
