Guar seed prices showed a fall of Rs 17.50 to Rs 3,960 per quintal in futures trade today on shortening of exposures by traders in sync with weak physical markets.

Market players said relentless supplies from growing areas amid lack of buying support from guar gum makers at spot markets, kept investors cautious, marking the downtrend in guar seed futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guar seed delivery for July went down by Rs 17.50 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 3,960 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,880 lots.

The delivery for June also came down by Rs 10.50 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 3,920 per quintal, having a business turnover of 92,280 open lots.
