Guar seed futures traded lower by Rs 16.50 to Rs 4.032 per quintal in futures trade today as participants reduced their portfolios in step with a weak trend trend in the physical market due to sluggish demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar seed to be delivered in April fell by Rs 16.50, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 4,032 per quintal with an open interest of 25,190 lots.
Guar seed to be delivered in May also receded by Rs 14, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 4,057.50 per quintal with an open interest of 1,19,320 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of holdings by speculators amid subdued demand at the spot market weighed on guar seed futures here.
