The pension announced by PNC Menon, Chairman Emeritus of Sobha Group would be equal to the last salary drawn by the guard before his tragic death and will be paid through the Sri Kurumba Trust, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Group set up by Menon, a company press release said.
Besides the pension, Menon has offered to bear all expenses for the education of 50-year-old Chandrabose's children including tuition fees, boarding and lodging, uniforms, travel, clothing and medical care.
Mohammed Nisham, owner of King Beedi co, allegedly in an inebriated state, physically assaulted the security guard and later rammed him with an SUV, a Hammer following an argument over delay in opening the gate on January 29 at Sobha city, a posh residential township here.
Chandrabose, according to hospital sources had nine fractures on his ribs, his lungs had ruptured and there were five wounds in his intestine, besides fractures on his hips and vertebra.
Though he underwent at least six surgeries, doctors could not save him and he passed away yesterday.
Police have charged Nisham with murder following Chandrabose's death.
