Shinde was presiding over a meeting of the Thane DPDC yesterday and said Rs 248 crore was quite insufficient to undertake development works in the district and he would take up the issue with State planning minister in the due course.
During the meeting, he discussed issues ranging from shortage of food grain under PDS, water supply shortage, paucity of health facilities, rising child mortality deaths in Sahapur on account of absence of sonography machines.
He also directed officials to submit the proposal for developing Barvi Dam and Malshej as eco-tourist destinations and Ganeshpuri and Mauli as tourist spots.
District collector Ashwini Joshi, Zilla Parishad CEO Shekar Gaikwad, MP Rajan Vichare and other officials attended the meeting.
