The varsity, named as Govind Guru University, will provide courses in engineering, medical, agriculture science and many other streams to the students of the tribal belt, stated an official press release.
In her speech, Patel expressed her intention to collaborate with world-class institutions like Harvard University to provide best education to the students of central Gujarat, which is having considerable population of tribals.
As per the government's earlier announcement to start a college at those talukas where there were no college till date, other state ministers have inaugurated colleges at 10 different talukas of the state today, as per the release.
While addressing a large gathering of women, the CM expressed confidence that when the entire society has joined hands for a malnutrition-free Gujarat, not a single child will remain malnourished and Gujarat will become a model state in terms of child health.
Under this drive, health check-up for all the children bellow six years will be conducted across the state at various anganwadi centers. To help the government in carrying out this task, around 25,000 child specialist doctors as well as several NGOs have agreed to volunteer, stated the release.
