Guj govt transfers 21 IAS officers

In a bureaucratic reshuffle, the Gujarat government today transfered 21 senior IAS officers including municipal commissioners of Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

A M Tiwari has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Home.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, M S Dagur has been transferred to Bharuch as Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Ltd, a state-run PSU.

As per a notification issued by the General Administration Department this evening, Dagur has been replaced by A M Tiwari, a 1985-batch IAS officer currently serving in Vadodara as MD of the Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd (GSFC).

Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar has been shifted to Gandhinagar as Secretary in Education department.

Kumar has been replaced by Vijay Nehra, who has returned recently from long-term training abroad, the notification said.

Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Vinod Rao has been made the Secretary in the state Agriculture department.

Vice Chairman and CEO of Gujarat Maritime Board Ajay Bhadoo will take over as the Vadodara civic chief, it said.

Forests and Environment department Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Arvind Agarwal has been shifted to Finance department as its ACS. He was holding the additional charge of the Finance till now.

Sujit Gulati, who is serving as the ACS of the Energy and Petrochemicals department, has been appointed as the new MD of GSFC.

Gulati has been replaced by 1987-batch IAS officer Raj Gopal, currently serving as Principal Secretary in Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department.

Food and Civil Supplies department ACS Sangeeta Singh has been transferred and given full-fledged charge as ACS GAD (Personnel) of which she was holding the additional charge.

Rajiv Kumar Gupta, currently serving as the ACS of Labour and Employment department, has been appointed as the ACS, Forest and Environment department.

Gupta is replaced by 1986-batch IAS officer Vipul Mitra, currently serving in Ports and Transport department as its ACS.

T. Natarajan, incumbent Joint MD of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, is now appointed as the GSPC MD.

Chief Secretary J N Singh was holding the additional charge as MD.

Cottage and Rural Industries Commissioner A K Rakesh has been appointed as Principal Secretary in Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department.

Sandeep Kumar, an IAS officer of 2002 batch, will be the new Cottage and Rural Industries Commissioner.

Education department Principal Secretary Sunaina Tomar has been transferred and appointed as the Principal Secretary, Ports and Transport department.

Kamal Kumar Dayani, currently serving as Principal Secretary in Social Justice and Empowerment department, has been shifted to Food and Civil Supplies department.

Dayani has been replaced by 1990-batch IAS officer Manoj Aggarwal, serving as state Development Commissioner.

N P Thakar, serving as Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records, has been appointed as the new Development Commissioner.

Lochan Sehra, who is holding additional charge as Secretary, Housing and Nirmal Gujarat, is now given the charge as the full-fledged secretary in the same department. He would also hold the additional charge of Housing Commissioner.

Mohammad Shahid, an IAS officer of 1998-batch, has been made new Vice Chairman and CEO of the Gujarat Maritime Board.
