He was speaking at the western region co-ordination meeting of six states - Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh.
The meeting of senior police officers of these states was held at Gandhinagar, an official release said.
"In today's world, criminal activities are not limited to any one state due to advanced tele-communication and transportation services. Thus, it is necessary for various states to increase co-ordination among themselves and share data to stop such activities," said Pandey after the meet.
The idea of such region-wise meetings of DGPs was floated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at All India DGP's conference held in Kutch last year.
The first meeting of western region was held in Mumbai few months back while this was the second such meet, it added.
