Gujarat gives nod to set up 16 industrial & logistics parks

An empowered committee in Gujarat, headed by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, today gave its in-principle approval for setting up 13 industrial and three logistics parks in different parts of the state with a potential to attract over Rs 2,800-crore investments.
During a meeting here, the panel gave approval to allot 807.66 hectares of land for developing industrial parks and 71 hectares to set up logistics estates after scrutinising applications from prospective investors, said an official release.
It is estimated that these 13 industrial parks would fetch a cumulative investment of Rs 2,494 crore, while logistics hubs would bring in Rs 335 crore, it said.

The land for industrial parks would be made available for investors at Viramgam, Bavla, Mandal and Sanand talukas of Ahmedabad district, Karjan (Vadodara), Kadi (Mehsana), Kamrej and (both in Surat district).
Three logistic parks would come up in Surat, Valsad and Patan districts.
During the meeting, Rupani maintained entrepreneurs should take up responsibility of providing fire-fighting services as well as conserving environment in these parks, stated the release.
