"Prakash Tulsiani has resigned as Managing Director and as a Director with effect from May 31 to pursue other career opportunities," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
It said Tulsiani's successor has been identified by Gujarat Pipavav's promoter APM Terminals and the details would be made public on completion of appointment formalities.
The company appreciated Tulsiani for "his hard and dedicated work towards a successful startup of the container terminal at Pipavav and the company's turnaround" on behalf of its Board of Directors and APM Terminals.
Gujarat Pipavav Port is operated by APM Terminals, a global container terminal operator.
The company's shares were trading 1.35 per cent down at Rs 237.65 apiece during afternoon session on the BSE.
