There has been no ceasefire violation since last night along the LoC in Jammu, Poonch and Rajouri districts, Defence PRO Manish Mehta said.
Yesterday, Pakistan troops had resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling, targeting several Indian posts and civilian areas in three sectors in Poonch and Rajouri districts. Indian forces responded strongly to the firing.
"Guns have fallen silent after our strong retaliation and befitting reply. There was no shelling and firing since 8.30 PM last night till now," a senior Army officer said.
As per reports, three Indian troops suffered minor injuries in shelling at Sonagali area in Poonch district last evening. However, the Defence PRO said he had no information about it.
There have been 16 ceasefire violations in October this year.
On October 4, Pak troops violated ceasefire four times and restored to heavy firing and mortar shelling at Saujian, Shahpur-Kerni, Mandi and KG sectors in Poonch district. Five civilian were injured and several shops burnt down after a shell triggered fire in oil containers in a security camp.
