Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a firm trend with prices rising up to Rs 125 per quintal on thin supplies amid scarcity of stocks.
Marketmen said paucity of stocks on thin supplies from manufacturing belts following adverse weather conditions for production, triggered speculative buying by stockists in anticipation of further rise, mainly influenced prices.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku and Laddoo prices showed a spurt of Rs 125 each to end at Rs 3,000-3,300 and Rs 3,200- 3,300 as compared to overnight close of Rs 2,925-3,175 and Rs 3,125-3,175 per quintal, respectively.
