Gur pedi prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following tight arrivals amid better offtake.
Elsewhere, other gur varieties in Delhi asked at overnight levels in thin trade.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a rise of up to Rs 100 per quintal on paucity of stocks and immense buying.
Marketmen said a drop in arrivals from manufacturing belts due to deteriorating weather, sparked by speculative buying mainly pushed up gur prices.

At Muzaffarnagar gur Khurpa prices improved from Rs 2,600-2,650 to close at Rs 2,650-2,750 per quintal.
