Indian-origin British filmmaker Gurinder Chadha is hopeful to work with singer Zayn Malik in the near future.
It has been reported that the 22-year-old singer is in talks with "Bend It Like Beckham" director Gurinder Chadha to plan his next move, reported Daily Mirror.
"We've met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band.
"So I think what he'll be doing is staying true to his heart - and that's all you can ever do," she said.
Speaking at the Asian Awards, which was also attended by Malik, Gurinder added, "I don't have a part in mind for Zayn just yet but hopefully in the future."
Their discussions came just months after Zayn's singer friend Ed Sheeran, 24, agreed to feature in a Bollywood film.
