Gutkha, tobacco products worth Rs 57 lakh seized in Palghar
One person was arrested and gutkha and other tobacco products worth Rs 57 lakh was seized in neighbouring Palghar district, a police official said Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team late Saturday night intercepted a vehicle on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway near Waliv in Palghar and made the arrest and seizure, said police spokesperson Hemant Katkar.
A case was registered at Waliv police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Food and Drug Administration Rules, he said.
