Gym trainer shot dead by friends over monetary dispute

A gym trainer was allegedly shot dead by his friends today over a monetary dispute in Rajnagar Extension area here, the police said.

The deceased, Anuj Tyagi, had lent Rs 20,000 to his friends Ravinder and Vinay Tyagi and was mounting pressure on them to return it, Superintendent of Police (City) Akash Tomar said.

The duo had called Anuj for a meeting in Rajnagar Extension and opened fire at him in a fit of rage as an argument broke out between them, he said.

Anuj was rushed to a private hospital where he later succumbed to bullet injuries, the SP said.

His father, Vinod Kumar, lodged a complaint against Ravinder and Vinay Tyagi.

Ravinder has been arrested, while Vinay is absconding, Tomar said.
