Avinash Sachdev will play the male lead in the second season of 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' and the actor reveals when he came on board the show he had no idea it was a sequel.
"I signed the show in January this year and at that time it was something else. When I began shooting in April, I got to know that it was a sequel to the previous show. I was definitely shocked," Avinash told PTI.
This is the second time, Avinash will be part of a sequel. Earlier he starred in the second season of his own hit serial 'Choti Bahu'.
"This show is different from the sequel I did earlier because I was part of the original. But I am fine with it. I am prepared to take on any challenge as an actor," he said.
The first season of 'Iss Pyaar Ko...' starring Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, became a rage among the audience. When asked if he is worried about the comparisons, Avinash said, "I am aware that the show was very popular. But frankly I have not watched a single episode as I was busy with my own serials.
"So I am not going to comment on how similar or different this new show is going to be. For that people have to watch it," the actor said.
Avinash has been paired opposite Shrenu Parikh, who was earlier seen in 'Byaah Hamari Bahoo Ka'.
"I had a great time working with Shrenu. She is very easy on the sets and we share a great comfort level," he said.
'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon- Ek Baar Phir' will air on Star Plus from August 26.
