"I signed the show in January this year and at that time it was something else. When I began shooting in April, I got to know that it was a sequel to the previous show. I was definitely shocked," Avinash told PTI.
This is the second time, Avinash will be part of a sequel. Earlier he starred in the second season of his own hit serial 'Choti Bahu'.
The first season of 'Iss Pyaar Ko...' starring Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, became a rage among the audience. When asked if he is worried about the comparisons, Avinash said, "I am aware that the show was very popular. But frankly I have not watched a single episode as I was busy with my own serials.
"So I am not going to comment on how similar or different this new show is going to be. For that people have to watch it," the actor said.
"I had a great time working with Shrenu. She is very easy on the sets and we share a great comfort level," he said.
'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon- Ek Baar Phir' will air on Star Plus from August 26.
