Choudhury was picked up for interrogation for alleged misappropriation of funds and detained in Hailakandi Sadar police station yesterday, the release said.
Officer In-charge of Sadar Police Station Surajit Choudhury said a case was filed against the BDO (case no. 412/16) for alleged misappropriation of government funds and has been booked under sections 120B together with 409, 419, 468 and 420 of IPC.
Hailakandi Sadar Police Station produced him at the District Session Court today.
