Handicrafts played imp. Role in human civilisation: Guv

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today said that handicrafts and handlooms have played a significant role in development of human civilisation and culture.
Singh was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of 'Mrignayani', an exhibition of products crafted by weavers and craftsmen of Madhya Pradesh, here.
"The skills of craftsmen and weavers are reflected in everything from the currencies of various emperors to the everyday items used by the poor," said Singh.
"These arts and techniques are as popular in modern times as they were in ancient times. Hence, such fairs showcasing crafts and handloom products provide people with an opportunity to access art, besides providing a platform for exchange of ideas," he added.

The Governor took a round of the exhibition and showed keen interest in the products displayed, an official release said.
