Har govt sends proposal for Yamunanagar-Chandigarh rail line

Haryana government has sent a proposal to the Centre for laying a railway line between Yamunanagar and Chandigarh.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the proposal had been sent to the central government in this regard.
Work on the project would start as soon as approval is received, official release said.
The minister said the rain water from the hills in Naraingarh here would be utilised for construction of check dams so that the ground water could be recharged.
It would help irrigate water-starved farms in the area, release said.
