Opposition parties INLD and BJP today staged a walkout from the Haryana Assembly demanding probe by a sitting High Court judge in an "illegal" land allotment and granting Change of Land Use (CLUs) by the state government.
Soon after the Question Hour, members of the INLD and the BJP slammed the Haryana government for extending "undue favour" to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT) by illegally allotting gram panchayat land to it in the Gurgaon district.
During the Zero Hour, INLD MLAs including Abhay Chautala, Ashok Arora, Ram Pal Majra and several BJP members demanded a probe into the issue.
"There should be an inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge (into allotment to RGCT)," Vij said in the Assembly.
Countering the charges, Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the Punjab and Haryana High Court has already disposed of the matter related to the RGCT and no case in this regard was pending in any Court.
Later, interacting with the reporters here, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda claimed that no rules were flouted in allotment of land to the Trust.
He alleged that the INLD was trying to mislead the people by camouflaging the issue of land allotted to Ch. Devi Lal and the Harki Devi Trust by raising the issue of RGCT to be set up at Ulahhawas in Gurgaon district.
