Hardcore ULFA(I) militant nabbed

A hardcore ULFA(I) militant has been apprehended by security forces in Assam's Dibrugarh district, a police spokesman said today.
Acting on specific information, a joint team of police and army personnel launched an operation in Bhagmara village under Tingkhong police station late last night and apprehended the militant.
The militant has been identified as Romen Bhumij alias Mrinal Asom and the security forces recovered a 9-mm revolver, six rounds of live 9 mm ammunition and five detonators from his possession.
A case has been registered in this connection and interrogation of the militant was on, the spokesman added.
