Medical dramedy "Hart of Dixie" has been cancelled by the TV network CW reportedly due to poor ratings.
The show had been struggling in the ratings, averaging a 0.6 in the 18-to-49 demo and 1.6 million viewers. Back in the winter, when the CW renewed eight series, Hart of Dixie was not one of them, reported Entertainment Weekly.
On the night of the season four finale in late March, creator Leila Gerstein (who had previously told fans to "buckle up" for the final three episodes) and the show's stars tweeted sentimentally about the end of the series, treating that episode as the likely farewell.
The show, starring Rachel Bilson, premiered in September 2011 and ran for four seasons.
