Haryana govt sets up GMDA as regional transport authority

The Haryana government has constituted the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GDMA) as the regional transport authority within its jurisdiction.

The GDMA will exercise the powers and discharge the duties to specify the routes and areas for the issuance or grant of state carriage permits, deciding and issuance of time table, working hours of the crew, and parking places with respect to city bus services operated by the Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited, an official spokesman said.

A notification has been issued in this regard by the Transport Department, he said.
