Haryana govt to felicitate yoga guru Ramdev on Apr 21

The Haryana government will felicitate yoga guru Ramdev, the brand ambassador for promotion of yoga and ayurveda in the state, on April 21 in Sonipat, a senior minister said here today.
"A felicitation programme will be organised in the honour of Baba Ramdev on April 21 in Sonipat where he will sign an agreement for promoting yoga and ayurveda in the state," Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said.
Vij said that during the felicitation function, Baba Ramdev, who has been given status equal to that of a cabinet minister, will also give live demonstration of various yoga 'asanas and pranayam' for motivating people towards yoga.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar would also be present on this occasion, he said.
Vij said that at present 550 doctors of Ayush Department are being trained at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar.
"As many as 105 doctors of Ayush Department have been provided training and soon rest of the doctors will also be provided training," he said.
Besides this, the state government is setting up a world-class Herbal Forest in the state where as many as 25,000 saplings of different varieties from across the world would be planted.
The health minister said 'Vyayam and Yogshalas' are being set up in order to bring yoga in Haryana an international recognition.
In its first phase, yogshalas would be set up in every 50 villages of the districts. For this, the support of the yoga guru would be sought and help of part-time trainers would also be sought in training.
