The minister was speaking after visiting Adi Badri, the point of origin of Saraswati River in district Yamunanagar.
Sharma, who was accompanied by Rajasthan Minister Kiran Maheshwari, also visited the Saraswati River rejuvenation project in Mugalwali and the ancient temples of Adi Badri area.
The Haryana minister noted that he had undertaken the boring work for the Saraswati river at Sirsa when he was a minister in 1987.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a deep interest in the field of tourism, Sharma said that the Vedas were created on the banks of Saraswati River and satellite images show glimpses of this river's course even today.
Giving details of the work done so far for the rejuvenation of the Saraswati River, the Tourism minister said the digging work has already been started.
The Haryana government has constituted the Haryana Saraswati Heritage Development Board for this purpose and the first meeting of the Board has been held in this regard.
