State owned Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has offered 37 acres of land to Container Corporation of India (CONCOR).
The land is being given for setting up rail linked multi modal logistics park (MMLP) at Industrial Estate Barhi for dry port, domestic container terminal and rail freight terminal with warehousing complex.
Disclosing this here today, Haryana Industries Minister Capt Abhimanyu informed that about Rs 350 crore will be invested on setting up the project in Sonipat - Gannaur - Panipat area falling on Delhi - Ambala - Kalka section of Northern Railway to facilitate reduction in logistics costs of the industry and provide the EXIM trade faster and cheaper access to the North Western and Western Gateway Ports.
When implemented, this project would provide direct and indirect employment to about 5000 persons and generate revenue for the state exchequer, he informed.
He said the decision has been taken by the higher level plot allotment committee constituted by the State Government under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Industries Devender Singh to consider allotment of industrial plots to prestigious projects having an investment of Rs 30 crore and above.
Abhimanyu said CONCOR will be the part of Industrial Estate, Barhi, located on the National highway-1 at a distance of about 65 kms from the International Airport New Delhi.
Industrial Estate, Barhi spread over an area of over 1,255 acres. This industrial estate was set up by HSIIDC to cater the need of small and medium scale industries having the advantage of proximity to Delhi.
