Haryana Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma today visited the city to take stock of the preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi will come to the city on September 6, his third visit to the place after assuming office.
Addressing a press conference, Sharma said that the Prime Minister would be inaugurating the DMRC's newly laid ITO-Badarpur corridor extension.
The Minister, accompanied by Faridabad MLA Vipul Goel, MLA from Ballabgarh Moolchand Sharma, District President BJP Ajay Gaur and President Finance committee Narendra Gupta, inspected the stage from where Modi will be addressing a huge crowd.
Sharma said that the state of preparations is quite satisfactory.
The minister also underlined the various steps by the government to develop the city.
"The government will do everything needed to restore the lost prestige of the city in the last 15 years," he said.
He said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had returned with 'Make in India' contracts worth Rs 10,000 crores after his recent trips from Canada and US.
Reacting on allegations that the Chief Minister's team did not have industry representation during his foreign visit, Sharma said that a team of 33 people from different sections of the society accompanied Khattar.
The team had 18 representatives from industry, he said.
Replying to another question about how the city would survive in the list of smart city when its municipal corporation is always short of funds, the Education Minister said that Rs 48,000 crores would be disbursed to make the infrastructure complying with the ideal smart city.
