At present, the availability of power is more than the requirement and the consumers are getting supply for more period than the schedule.
Devender Singh, Principal Secretary (Power) and Chairman, Haryana Power Utilities today said that to strengthen power transmission and distribution system all over the state, the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have proposed a comprehensive plan of Rs 4,400 crore, to be completed by the end of financial year 2016-17.
Under this plan, the utilities will construct 251 new sub-stations of various levels and augment capacity of 373 existing sub-stations so as to match the capacity of the transmission system to the increasing availability of power in the state, he said.
The new sub-stations include one sub-station of 440 KV level, 29 sub-stations of 220 KV level, 12 sub-stations of 132 level, 19 sub-stations of 66 level and 190 sub-stations of 33 KV level.
The sub-stations to be augmented under the plan include four sub-stations of 440 KV level, 35 of 220 KV level, 20 of 132 KV level, 64 of 66 KV level and 200 sub-stations of 33 KV level, he said.
Singh said that during last financial year, 53 new sub-stations have been commissioned in the state, capacity of 177 existing sub-stations has been augmented and 450 km long transmission lines were constructed at a cost of Rs 654.12 crore.
