Haryana raises ex-gratia grant, insurance cover for policemen

Haryana government today hiked the ex-gratia grant given to the family members of police personnel killed in the line of duty from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
Besides this, the accidental insurance cover of Rs 25 lakh given to police personnel was also increased to Rs 30 lakh, said an official release.
The Director General of Police (DGP), KP Singh, who was speaking at the state-level Police 'Smriti Parade' at Panchkula today, said that Haryana Police is "fully prepared" to tackle criminal elements.
He also paid tributes to martyr constable Raj Singh of Haryana Police and other martyrs of police and paramilitary forces on the occasion.
