A spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said today that these mills had produced over 29.11 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 293.82 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the corresponding period last year.
The Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad, has produced the maximum of over 6.74 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 64.58 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak, has produced over 4.19 lakh quintals by crushing 45.22 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham, which has produced over 3.54 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 38.24 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sonipat, has produced more than 2.21 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 22.62 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Panipat, has produced over 2.66 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 26.10 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Jind has produced over 2.50 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 25.74 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh, has produced over 3.48 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 33.75 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
The official said that so far, average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 9.93 per cent.
