While giving information on this, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said purchase of 18,75,458 tonnes of wheat by government procuring agencies.
Besides, 100 tonnes of wheat was purchased by traders.
Giving details of wheat purchased by procurement agencies, he said over 8.17 lakh tonnes of wheat has been purchased by Hafed, whereas Food and Supplies Department purchased 5.65 lakh tonnes.
Haryana Agro Industries Corporation bought 1.74 lakh tonnes while Haryana Warehousing Corporation purchased 3.12 lakh tonnes and Confed 5,800 tonnes of wheat.
While giving information on wheat arrival, he said that district Karnal was leading in wheat arrival where over 2.74 lakh tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis, followed by district Kaithal, where over 2.53 lakh tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
