Haryana government has tied up with Wipro for computerisation of all tax processes and rolling out 26 e-modules in order to provide various e-services covering registration, refund, payment and others.
Stating this, an official spokesman of Excise and Taxation Department said this would lead to hassle free communication between dealer and department and reduce incidences of tax evasion.
E-tendering for the excise vends allotment would be introduced soon while e-registration, e-payments and e-filing of returns would be made available to the dealers in the month of April.
The Department is also committed to introduce GST in the state from April 1, 2016 and all officers and officials would be imparted training with regard to the functioning of the GST, he added.
Referring to the initiatives to be taken up from April 2015, he said under 'Apna Tax' scheme, quarterly awards would be given to those customers who share their bills with the department.
He said an in-house software module has been prepared for the verification of returns and analysing the data of purchases and sales made within the state.
Leakages of tax revenue would be plugged through strict enforcement, he said.
Under the lump sum schemes for specific categories of dealers, he said that the existing scheme for retailers is to be recast so that it might be opted for by the tax compliant dealers to facilitate and make it easy for dealers to pay the tax due.
He said an Economic Intelligence Unit is being set up and technical experts to be hired to give inputs and intelligence for effective inspections of business premises.
Initiating audit of assessments by reputed private parties or consultants and large scale use of data from across departments as well as computerisation and audit trails.
He said for maintaining transparency, an independent person from the public would be made a part of the checking teams.
For this, several associations of markets, the taxation bar and the like organisations of the concerned districts are being requested to nominate the names of their members for this purpose.
