He also directed them to carry out a detailed survey to explore the possibilities of tapping the excess water during the rainy season by constructing check dams in the Arawali and Shiwalik areas.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the 46th meeting of Haryana State Flood Control Board held here, an official release said.
As many as 87 new schemes have been approved in the meeting to strengthen the Flood Control System in the State in view of the ensuing rainy season.
On the issue of construction of dam on river Yamuna in Yamunanagar by Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Secretary D S Dhesi apprised the Chief Minister that a meeting has been fixed with officers of Uttar Pradesh government in this regard at New Delhi on April 1.
