Haryana technical institutes directed get NSQF affiliations

All institutes, universities, school, higher education and other departments of Haryana providing technical courses have been directed to get National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) affiliations by December this year to ensure continuation of government funding.
Government funding would not be available to institutions or departments for training, educational programme and courses which are not NSQF-compliant, Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education and Vice-President of Haryana Skill Development Mission, Dheera Khandelwal said today.
They were speaking at a workshop regarding NSQF organised by Haryana Technical Education Department here.
During the workshop, experts said that in December 2013, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship had in a notification fixed the time period for implementation of NSQF, she said.
According to the notification, after three years of its issuance, all government-funded training and educational institutions would define eligibility criteria for admission to various courses in terms of NSQF levels, she said.
The recruitment rules of the Union Government and its public sector enterprises would be amended to define eligibility criteria for all positions in terms of NSQF levels, Khandelwal said.
The state governments would be encouraged to amend their recruitment rules as well as those of their public sector enterprises to define eligibility criteria for all positions in terms of NSQF levels, she added.
