Presiding over a meeting to review preparedness for supply, Khattar said there shouldn't be problem of drinking water, especially in the months of April, May, and June.
The Chief Minister directed that use of drinking water for purposes like washing cars, gardening, and in construction works be made punishable.
All the deputy commissioners would be asked to strictly enforce this provision.
He also directed the Urban Local Bodies department to supply water through tankers in those urban slums and unauthorised colonies where water is not being supplied by Municipal Corporation or PHED.
The CM was informed that all superintending engineers have been authorised to make water available through tankers in those areas where it is not being supplied due to any reason.
