Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his government plans to develop the state's universities as 'centres of excellence'.
The Chief Minister stated this while addressing teachers after inaugurating the administrative block of Pt. Neki Ram Sharma Government College in Rohtak, according to an official release.
The chief minister also sought suggestions from teachers to further improve the education system, saying the state government will consider all such suggestions.
He said adequate opportunities should be provided to all brilliant students. "No one should be deprived of education due to adverse family circumstances," he added.
Describing teachers as the "helmsmen of the nation", he said teachers drive societies in positive direction by infusing moral values among the youth.
He called upon them to spare some time from their busy schedule and perform the task of realising the vision of a good society. The teaching fraternity would have to awaken self-confidence in future generations so that they achieve their goal, he added.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid special focus on improving standard of education at all levels. The central government has implemented the National Education Policy under which "our government will work to improve the level of education in the state", he said.
"...Schemes will be formulated to provide quality education to the youth... Apart from that, programmes like Shramev Jayate and Make in India have been started to provide adequate employment opportunities to the youth," the chief minister added.
