'Arthiyas' in Haryana will be able to carry out procurement of paddy through both e-system as well as manually during the Kharif procurement season starting from October 1.
Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will launch the e-procurement portal in Karnal on September 27.
A mobile application would also be launched at the same function which would provide all necessary information to farmers, arthiyas and traders, Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, J Ganesan, said in a release today.
The J-form would also be available on this application. He said for arthiyas who are unable to operate computers, their work would be completed by the concerned Secretary, Market Committee.
While 31 mandis of the state have already been linked with National Agriculture Market, five more would soon be linked and business of Rs 120 crore has so far been conducted, he added.
Ganesan said the Board would launch SMS service under which farmers would get information about the procurement.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has also been linked with e-procurement. HAFED and FCI would also be linked with it in future.
He said Secretaries have connected about 34,000 arthiyas online in a very short time.
