Haryana wants metro link between Qutub Minar and Badarpur

To provide smooth metro connectivity between Faridabad and Gurgaon, Haryana government today said it has requested Union Urban Development Ministry to construct a metro link between Qutub Minar and Badarpur station by 2018.
This was revealed in a review meeting of various schemes for Faridabad chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here.
He said that Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) would request Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to carry out feasibility study for construction of a Metro line to cater the requirement of sectors across Agra Canal, Faridabad.
To make towns like Faridabad slum free, the chief minister asked the officers to send a delegation to Mumbai for study of Mumbai model.
He also suggested constituting a committee for increasing income sources of Municipal Corporation so as to strengthen their financial position.
Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar was also present in the meeting, according to an official release.
Khattar informed that he has raised the issue to further strengthen National Capital Region Planning Board with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the Prime Minister has assured positive response.
Delhi is surrounded by three sides of Haryana and it is possible for the state to implement developmental schemes at their level, he said.
The chief minister also suggested having a dialogue with Uttar Pradesh Government on irrigation water being supplied from Agra canal in Hathin area.
All possible efforts would be made for providing drinking water supply to Faridabad and water for irrigation purpose to Hathin area.
He said that HUDA would examine the feasibility of widening of various sector dividing roads which connect sectors across Gurgaon-Agra Canal.
The authority would also construct Railway under Bridge near railway crossing of Sector-46, Faridabad.
He said that HUDA would construct the four lane bridge on Gurgaon-Agra canal on Palla road and Itmadpur road.
