Actor Sonu Sood says he has not been approached for "Dabangg 3" yet but is aware that its scripting has started.
The 43-year-old actor says there is still a long way to go before the final script is ready as there are several stages involved in the process.
"I have not been approached. Even I heard they are working on the script. It is the best way to go about things. First you need to write the script, re-work on lots of things.
"First draft, second draft, once the final script is ready then you visualise which actors fits the role in that particular script they've written," Sonu told PTI in an interview.
Sonu played the role of villain Chedi Singh in the first instalment of the Salman Khan starrer. Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, "Dabangg" told the story of a corrupt but fearless cop.
The second instalment was helmed by Arbaaz Khan, who recently announced that work on "Dabangg 3" has started.
The "Happy New Year" star says he would love to be a part of the third instalment of the action-drama franchise.
"I am glad they are writing the script. I am sure they will take the best call, which will be good for the film. I would love to be part of 'Dabangg 3'. I have a great rapport with the family (Salman's).
Sonu is currently gearing up for the release of his maiden production venture 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya'. Directed by AL Vijay, the film also stars Prabhudheva and actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
The horror-comedy will be released across three languages, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on October 7.
