The anti-corruption activist will address a public meeting both in Roorkee and Dehradun on April 16 and issue an appeal to people to cleanse the political system of its ills, Uttarakhand convenor of Hazare's Jantantra Morcha, Surendra Singh Pangti said here today.
He is likely to be accompanied by former Army chief General V K Singh on the yatra, he said.
Hazare's visit acquires significance as the civic body polls in Uttarakhand widely viewed as a dry run for 2014 general elections are slated to be held on April 28.
Singh and Hazare will first address a public meeting at Roorkee and then proceed to the state capital to address people at the parade ground, he said.
They will also address a public meeting at Haridwar on April 17.
