HC asks panel to get minor girl admitted in boarding school

The Delhi High Court today asked an adhoc committee, appointed by it for the welfare of a 13-year- old girl who was kept away from school by her mother for the past five years, to get her admitted in a boarding school here.
The court's decision came after it was apprised by the members of the committee that despite the direction of the judge, the child, who is living in south Delhi, was irregular to the school where she was enrolled following its orders.
"The respondent mother is personally present in the court and had agreed to the adhoc committee findings of sending the child to a boarding run by Colonel Satsangi Kiran Memorial Public School here....Therefore, the committee is directed to get the child admitted in the school," Justice Manmohan said.

The court also allowed the mother to meet her daughter every Saturday for half-an-hour in the school.
It directed the father to deposit annual fees of the child with the school till March 31, 2015 and also asked him to deposit Rs two lakh with the adhoc committee, which will open an account in the name of the child for other needs of the girl.
The judge also asked the principal of the school to personally monitor the minor girl so that proper nourishment is given to her on a regular basis.

The court, which has kept the matter pending before it so that it can get the updates in the case, said that the adhoc committee members comprising advocates Ruchi Sindhwani, Ashok Aggarwal and Rajshekhar Rao will visit the school on a regular basis and take reports about the girl.

The court had on September 16 appointed the three lawyers as amicus curiae to monitor the progress of the girl and get her admitted in a school after an examination by doctors.
It was hearing the plea of the woman's ex-husband, who alleged that their child has been deliberately withdrawn from the school by his former wife.
