First bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sathish K Agnihotri and Justice K Ravichandrabaabu directed the District Collector to inspect the land in question through the revenue authorities and file a status report in two weeks.
The directive was given on a petition by one G Thangaraj of the city who alleged that land to the extent of five grounds (one ground is approximately 2,400 sq ft) had allegedly been encroached one K P S Illayaraj of Kaduvetti.
As there was no response from authorities to the complaints made by him, I have filed the petition, he added.
The bench adjourned the matter to be heard after two weeks.
