Justice S. Vaidyanathan, before whom anticipatory bail applications filed by four persons--S Arumugam, B Malarvizhi, B.Jegajothi and N. Sudhakar of Erode-- apprehending arrest in connection with a complaint by wife of Arumugam, have come up, while granting the anticipatory bail, said "the offence against the petitioners is not that of warranting custodial interrogation of the petitioners."
According to the prosecution, de facto complainant Sathyabama has filed a complaint stating that the four had criminally intimated her to withdraw the case filed by her seeking interim maintenance from Arumugam, pending in Poonamallee Court.
Counsel said his client Arumugam has collected materials and obtained necessary information from BCTP and taking steps to initiate action against him. He further submitted that the petitioners had nothing to do with the alleged offences and they have been falsely implicated.
The judge said according to the petitioners, Sathyabama has threatened them through her brother Rajasekaran, who has given nearly 40 enrolment numbers and furnished different addresses to cheat the litigants.
Since it has been stated by the petitioners that "Rajasekaran is behind this case and that he is not a party to the proceedings, the BCTP is directed to inquire about the allegation and send a report to the Registrar General, to be placed before the Chief Justice," the judge said.
