Justice Bachchu Lal passed the order on the bail application of Kashyap whose daughter-in-law Himanshi was found dead inside a bathroom at their Ghaziabad residence on April 6. It was alleged by her father that she was shot dead with the licensed revolver of her husband after being harassed for dowry.
An FIR was registered at Kavi Nagar police station by the father of the deceased and Kashyap, his wife and their son (the husband of the deceased) were arrested a day after the incident took place.
An advocate by profession, Kashyap was expelled from Bahujan Samaj Party a month after his arrest.
His Rajya Sabha tenure came to an end earlier this month.
