The petitioner, A.Rajan, State Organiser, Tamil Nadu Human Rights Organization, alleged that the Commissioner had made the appointments in violation of rules, as the post had been abolished in 1996.
He also sought a direction to the corporation commissioner to restrain Special Revenue Inspectors,appointed by him, from doing their work, pending disposal of the petition.
A Division Bench of Justice V.Ramasubramanian and Justice V.M.Velumani issued notice to the Commissioner of Municipal administration and Tiruchirapallli Corporation Commissioner besides other officials.
