HC orders to pay fair compensation to temple land

Rejecting pleas to demolish the District Collector's office building in Karur as it was built the property owned by Sri Thanthoni Arulmigu Kalayana Ventaramana Swamy, the Madras high Court however directed the authorities to pay a fair compensation for the land.
A division bench comprising Justices T S Sivagnanam and R Tharani, hearing a batch of petitions on the matter, also directed the officials to conduct a survey and identify the lands belonging to Vennaimalai Sri Balasubramaniaswamy temple to find out encroachments.
