HC seeks UP govt reply on civil police recruitment process

The Allahabad High Court today directed Uttar Pradesh government to respond within a week on a PIL alleging irregularities in civil police constables recruitment process.
The court specifically asked the government's counsel what are the reasons for delay in publishing the list of selected candidates in main examination of aforesaid recruitment.
Justice Devendra Kumar Arora passed the order on a writ petition filed by 31 applicants challenging the whole selection process.
The petitioners sought a direction to quash the whole selection process of constable recruitment in UP.
Earlier, the court had provided a week's time to the state government counsel to seek instructions in this matter, which could not be obtained, the petitioner's counsel said.

According to petitioner's counsel Vivek Pandey, a total 41,610 posts of constables were advertised in the year 2013 and after examination the result was declared on March 19, 2015.

He alleged that 34,000 applicants have been shown passed who belong only from the two districts Etawah and Mainpuri.
It was further alleged that in the selection process large-scale irregularities were committed.
The state government counsel had prayed for and was granted a week time by the court to seek complete instructions in the matter for placing its response.
The court, while passing the order, directed to list the matter on April 10.
